Hey friends, this is our first contact to internet. It's great!!! We are two mandolin-players, who studied at Wuppertal, Germany. Now, we are living in Hamburg. Steffen teaches mandolin at the Hamburg Conservatory. Maren works at the Joachim-Trekel-Musikverlag, which publishes music for mandolin, guitar and plucked string orchestra. Perhaps, we meet you later? Greetings, Maren + Steffen

I came across the address of LMO's homepage in the Louisville Music News last night and just had to look you folks up. It's sure good to know the group is still playing and obviously doing quite well. It's also good to see that you are not only continuing to play the pieces by John Goodin (always loved them), but he is continuing to compose for the group. Will try to keep better track in the future and try to catch a show.

I have been collecting and playing the mandolin for about ten years, I recently suffered tendonitis chronically so I have sold my collection of snakehead gibsons, a Lyon and Healy Style A and still have a Martin Style 20. I would like to see someone have this who appreciates classical mandolins. It is in excellent condition with one hairline crack under the tailpiece and the bridge is slightly sagging. I would like to trade this for a very clean L-00 Gibson guitar or a similar size mahagony Martin guitar in a twelve fret design.
On another subject I have some sheet music for mandolin orchestra from the teens through the 30's. I would donate to a good source, it is on loan at the moment but when it is returned I will make it available to someone . If anyone is interested in either the music or the mandolin please e-mail me. Thanks

Having heard Nashville's ensemble, I will look forward to seeing LMO and keeping track of impending mandoevents. Congratulations on such a fantastic site!

I am a hobbyist musician who plays acoustic double bass and the tamburitza. I am in the process of making a collection of mandolin orchestra recordings to compliment my collection of tamburitza, bouzouki and balalaika instrumental recordings. I would be interested in any reording released by the LMO.

WOW, I cant believe I stumbled across this site! I've seen the Lonesome Pine Show twice and it was fabulous! It inspired me to hunt down the Hoedown score and transcribe a solo mandoline version. Big fun!

Howdy, since my wife is from Louisville and we go back each year to visit, it's nice to know of mandolin happenin's. She and I usually leave the kids with her sister while we stroll up Bardstown Road, me with Mandolin in hand.

We are four joung enthusiastic mandolin and guitar players from Mandolinen Orchester Empelde (near Hannover, Germany) and Hessisches Zupforchester (HZO). At this weekend we are recording our second CD and now after all the work of the first day is done, we are surfing for some interesting mandolin pages on the internet. We heard your Orchestra at the "Bundesmusikfest `95 in Schoeneck" and enjoyed your way of performing music. Good Pickin'
